I grew up in a wonderful Christian family.  I am so thankful for my parents and extended family.  I did not realize until I was an adult how many examples of Christ’s love I have.  My family attended a small church, Tocsin Church of Faith, just down the road from our home.  I asked Jesus into my heart at age 5 in children’s church.  As my sister and I grew older it became important to my parents for us to be in a church with a strong youth group.  The decision was made to start attending Bluffton First Church.  I always loved church growing up but never truly had a faith of my own until I went to college.

While at Olivet Nazarene University my beliefs were tested and for the first time I found myself wondering what my beliefs really were.  When I think back over those four years, I realize how blessed I was to be able to have those experiences.  I had wonderful professors that made me develop a belief system of my own.  During my time at Olivet I recommitted my life to Christ and doing His work.

I went off to college with big dreams of one day being a powerful woman in the business world, and then I met Adam.  Suddenly my dreams of power and wealth turned into dreams of marriage and family.  I never imagined I would walk out of ONU with a “MRS” Degree, but I did just that.  I now know that God’s dreams for us are so much more than we could dream for ourselves.

Adam and I moved back to Bluffton in 2004 and there was no question that we would attend Bluffton First Church.  We immediately fell in love with our Sunday School class.  How amazing to have such a support group.  We have enjoyed being involved in children’s and youth ministries within the church.  I smile when I think of our church family and how blessed we are to have such a wonderful church to call home.

God is continually reminding me that our trust must lie in Him.  I have learned that His timing is always perfect, whether I like it or not.  My desire is to serve the Lord with my acts, attitude and life.
