We began attending the Nazarene Church in the 40's, I was only 3 years old at the time. In 1945 my whole family became members of the Bluffton First Church of the Nazarene.
When I was a young girl, age 15, my sister Carol Mounsey, died. She was only 26 years old. We're really not sure why she died, but something about this made me serious about the Lord. It was at this time in my life that I asked Jesus to come into my heart. When the Lord saved me, I was given a whole new life. Later, I decided to surrendered it all.
By surrendering it all, He gave me joy at a young age, along with a deep desire to serve Him. As I grew and matured I found that He is always there to pick me up, and that He helps me with everything I do.
I have seen many changes at Bluffton First Church of the Nazarene over the past years, and I know that God has been good and blessed and these changes have been good.
I really enjoy attending BFC. There are lots of good people here who have guided my life. These Christian friends have shown me examples of how to live my Christian life and I appreciate it so much. I can remember Rev. Pretty, Rev. Davidson and Walter and others. God is so real in my life; each day with my Savior is wonderful.
One thing I want to do is encourage our young attenders. They need to know that somebody cares for them. I want to let them know that I am praying for them and that they are important. Also, I want to be a good example of Christ, just like the good Christians examples I had when gowing up in the church.
